C.A. Walker Research Solutions, Inc. (“C.A. Walker”) respects the privacy of every visitor to our website(s) and every client or employee logging into our website(s). This Privacy Policy outlines the information C.A. Walker will collect and how we will use that information. This Privacy Policy only applies to the websites that directly link to this Privacy Policy, when you click on “Privacy Policy” in the website footer or elsewhere, including but not limited to www.cinevoter.com, www.portablesearch.com and www.cawalker.com.

C.A. Walker has developed this Privacy Policy from industry guidelines and standards, and local, national, and international laws and requirements. All privacy practices and methods described in this Privacy Policy apply only insofar as permitted by the applicable standards, laws and requirements. C.A. Walker will collect information that identifies you, such as your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address and other similar information (“Personally Identifiable Information” or “PII”) when you voluntarily submit PII to C.A. Walker.C.A. Walker will collect information that does not identify you, such as your gender, age, geographic location, race/ethnicity, family make-up, purchase preferences, opinions, and other similar information (“Non-Personally Identifiable Information” or “Non-PII”), when you voluntarily submit the Non-PII to C.A. Walker.
  2. Uses of the Information We Collect.We do not share PII with third parties. We will use your PII for the purposes for which it was voluntarily submitted. For example, we may use your PII for the following reasons: sending e-mail invites to participate in a survey; to inform sweepstakes winners that they have won a prize; to mail survey-related rewards, prizes, and/or incentives; and/or to contact you regarding services you request.We use your Non-PII for legitimate market research purposes to assist our clients with understanding and analyzing our clients’ respective industries and markets and maximizing our client’s ability to reach consumers and their respective clients.

    C.A. Walker supports the rights of our members by limiting the use of their information for legitimate marketing research purposes and actively supports the following organizations created to uphold ethical survey research (this support includes making every effort to conform to the organizations’ ethical standards):

  3. CA Walker also strives to conform with FTC Safe Harbor regulations regarding data protection in the European Union; the FTCs’ Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act; the CAN-SPAM Act; and other privacy regulations and guidelines in the US and other countries.

    Your information is used solely for research purposes. We will never try to sell you anything; we are only interested in your opinions. When you complete a survey, your responses are analyzed in aggregate with all other respondents’ information and reported not individually, but only in the aggregate. Our research clients will never receive PII of our respondents, without your express permission and without being subject to confidentiality restrictions.

    We will never share your e-mail address or PII with anyone except an approved agent or sub-contractor we may engage for activities, such as reward fulfillment and data verification. All agents or sub-contractors must sign a confidentiality or “chain of trust” agreement, prior to receiving PII.

    We may disclose your PII to a third party when required to do so by law, or to protect someone’s safety, or to protect our rights or property.

    You may be shown confidential information as part of the surveys you take. In order to protect the integrity and confidentiality of our clients’ research, it is a condition that you agree not to reveal any information contained in surveys, and do not copy or distribute any graphics or other content from the surveys. By participating in any survey containing confidential information, you agree to protect the integrity and confidentiality of such confidential information.

  7. C.A. Walker believes that it’s especially important to protect children’s privacy online and encourages parents and guardians to spend time online with their children to participate and monitor their internet activity.

    C.A. Walker complies with all applicable national and international children’s privacy regulations. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (“COPPA”). We do not collect any personal information from children under thirteen (13) years of age.

  8. LinksOur website(s) may contain links to other websites, which we may or may not be responsible for. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and data collection procedures and practices used by websites not operated by C.A. Walker. We recommend that you carefully read the privacy policies of each website you visit.
  9. Use of Cookies
  10. C.A. Walker may collect other information that does not identify you that is transferred by you in connection with your visit to websites maintained and operated by C.A. Walker ( “Transferred Information”). Transferred Information includes, but is not limited to, your internet protocol (“IP”) address and other information collected through weblogs and/or cookies. Weblog information is gathered when you visit our websites, by the computer which hosts our website (the “Webserver”). The Webserver automatically recognizes some non-personal information, such as the date and time you access our website(s), the pages that you visited, the website that you came from, the type of browser you are on (i.e. Internet Explorer), the type of operating system you are using (i.e. Windows XP), and the domain name and address of your internet service provider (i.e. AOL).

    Our websites may also use technology called cookies. A cookie is a piece of information the Webserver sends to your computer when you access our website(s). Then when you come back to our website(s), our website(s) will detect whether you have one of our cookies on your computer. Our cookies help provide additional functionality to the website(s) and help C.A. Walker manage our website usage more accurately. We limit their use for quality control and validation. Cookies are used temporarily during the time you are actively completing a survey or filling out the registration forms and we do not store or retain your cookie information in any way. You always have the option to disable cookies while registering or completing a survey without affecting your participation. No PII is transmitted via these cookies.

    Additionally, we may invite you to take part in surveys where a third-party client requires placement of cookies in order to take part in a particular survey opportunity. Such cookies will never be placed without your knowledge and without explaining to you their purpose. You will always have a choice to decline the placement of such a cookie.

  11. Data Security
  12. C.A. Walker takes the security of your personal information seriously. Access to your personal information is restricted and limited to select C.A. Walker staff members, and access is subject to a strict password policy. C.A. Walker employees receive training in data privacy and protection.

    We will never ask you for personal information such as credit card or social security numbers, although we are required by law to request your social security number when sending you a check for very large cash prizes.

    C.A. Walker has reasonable security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the personal information under our control. Unfortunately, no transmission over the internet is guaranteed to be completely secure. It may be possible for third parties, not under the control of C.A. Walker, to intercept or access transmissions or private communications unlawfully. While we strive to protect personal information and PII, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any personal information and/or PII you transmit to us. Any transmission is done at your own risk.     All website members are required to use their e-mail address and a password when updating their contact information, or when accessing “members only” sections of our websites. If you forget your password, you can send a message to our secure system to retrieve it.

    All surveys are screened by C.A. Walker staff before sending you an invitation to ensure they are proper and appropriate for their intended audiences.

  13. Transfer of Information.
  14. C.A. Walker reserves the right to transfer PII to a buyer in connection with a sale of stock or assets, merger, or any other change of control transaction. Any entity acquiring your PII shall be required to honor and comply with this Privacy Policy.

  16. If a member or other individual submits PII to C.A. Walker or via a C.A. Walker website, and subsequently desires to have such PII removed from C.A. Walker ’s system and/or website(s), the member or other individual may opt-out by sending a request to the Privacy Contact listed below.
